Important Trivia Musing

Due to work schedules and keeping with backlogs at Opportunity World, i stayed away from keeping tabs on blogs. Especially my favourites; Deolu’s Blog, Bella Naija, Nairaland Forum, has been on my secluded list.

Funny is’nt it?

However, i just could not resist visiting deolu’s blog today that i actually went on to check for new post. His post on Amazing Trivia did keep me sandwiched between reeling in laughter and meditating deeply in the lessons. I really did not ask for permission to republish it on my blog so i’d advise you get on his blog and read it in full. However, i’ll give insights into the lessons and how they affect me;

* Never Underestimate things or people that seem small, weak or poor

This is totally right. I remembered applying for a visa at the UK embassy a long time ago and was approved. I was then ask to come back at 1.30 PM in the afternoon to pick up my passport. I did go with kayode Arishe who was my Project supervisor and at some point, only to be told that I was denied. Why?….I asked, the Spiked haired guy at the reception simply claimed i did not even applied for a visa. This was delayed for over 2 days until i produced a photocopy of the application form i filled. Apparently, some guy who had access to the embassy swapped my passport for someone else (yes it did happened). Need i say that just that simple photocopy saved the situation. Imagine, we were even dumped out from the floor the previous day….lol

*Don’t Let absolutes fool you, work with percentages
I hate figures, i really do, however i’d say earlier in business, i remembered having quite a lot of cashflow that i overlooked my expenses. I was making losses and the fact that i had money coming in daily made me have a feeling that my product was profitable. I then discover it was an absolute waste of my time.

*Expressed anger does’nt achieve much

Imagine me getting annoyed to the extent of accosting a guy who once called me a black monkey???…..lol I ended up being painted black and lost driving home my point that being black does not make me disadvantaged. I really could have passed across in a more subtle way

* Little Bad Habits have serious effects
Yes they really do. I once had this habit i picked up as a teenager (won’t tell you what it is). It was just a little bad habit which turned out against me in my twenties. Took me 24 months to break free

*Whatever you dedicated 2 hrs/day to, would have taken 5yers by the time you are 60 years old.
Weird innit?????…..I wish i dedicted 2 hours per day learning web programming. I would be a pro at php/mysql now.

*Find out what the hiccup guy did and stay away from it?

A word is really enough for the wise here…lol

*Without intelligence, sexuality will be missmanaged.
I aint saying anything about this. However, intelligence determines self awareness and awareness determines either to do or not to do.

*There is no excuse or handicap good enough for not taking leadership responsibility.

Is there any excuse for deciding to be great? I doubt it.

*The world doesn’t know who you are, even when they think they do. Do yourself a favour and know yourself.

Knowing ones self is one of the best thing. It enables you to know your SWOT.

* Don’t invest in forex what you are not willing to lose

I have always repeated this over and over again, yet i hear loadz of sad tales via my mobile phone everyday

*There are companies that are Nations. I will make you a father of many nations is not just for countries

Believe beyond what you read. It takes the holyspirit to reveal mysteries.

*Earning $1 per second will only make you become a billionaire in 32yrs.

Every little adds up and helps.

*It’s better to be notorious than invisible.

At least you would have print your marks on the sand of times.

*It is strange to go far in life without direction, but many dare it

It really is…..

*Great things start small and different. There are many companies whose early days were very funny.

The name Opportunity World stuck because i thought it out in my head, and few days later at a hotel room, i was holding a piece of foreign magazine tited “opportunity World”.It was a coincidence, but a starting point for what we represent today.

*Nothing is capable of hindering you except what you chose to hinder you.

You are as strong as your weakest link.

*Situational awareness is key
Its the key to understanding how things go and how to deal with them…
