About Olugbenga Aijotan
The best thing that ever happened to me was the internet. I still marvel at how my ancestors were able to live without it. The internet has offered me a lot of succour. It has granted me an income stream, likewise something to get busy with. I am completely happy with how I have harnessed the power of the internet and I continue on a daily basis to strive to be better and enjoy it more. Over the past two years, I have been covered on multiple blogs, featured in major Trainings & seminars, magazine and newspaper publications that includes The Nation and The Guardian. I have also featured on various Radio & TV programs on Premier FM, Splash FM, Liveway Radio, NaijaBrains Radio, NTA, BENTV etc. I have made money online and still doing exactly that.
I consider my little achievements a result of having passion for what I do and striving hard to become better on a daily basis. I believe that just anyone can become a star in whatever industry they are in and get reputation that makes money
With the current trend in Nigeria, where unemployment is at its highest rate, I believe that a bit of hardwork and some little trick can make anyone to standout. Also, Nigerian youths need to get away from the mentality of acquiring IT skills in the hope to get a Job. An average IT proficient individual should be willing to market their skills on the internet and form start-up company instead of writing CV’s to get a job.
Early Years
I’ve always loved computers; right from the first day I saw the Monochrome screened 256MB Hard Drive computer 12 years ago in a local publishing company in my hometown while on excursion. I did not get to use a computer until year 2001 when the first cybercafé opened in my town. I remembered travelling over 2km on foot to use the internet along with Seyi Abioye, a friend to create my first email. I have since been fascinated and endeared to the big white box.
Sometime in late 2001, I joined Life Vanguard, a Non Governmental organisation focused on Youth Health & development, so I could use the computer in the ARH unit (adolescent & reproductive health Unit) in my spare time. I rose to the post of a Youth Vice president and my passion for computers continued to grow as my position availed me the opportunity to use the PC. I did a lot of volunteering work & community development projects in places like Nasarawa, Osun, London, Barnstaple, and Exeter during those times.
I did my first website design using Microsoft word with the help of my counterpart while on an exchange program in 2003. The website was hosted on Geocities and the content was on HIV/Aids Epidemic and tips on how young people can avoid the deadly virus. I read my first electronic book on PDF (adobe Acrobat) in 2004. Someone asked me to help out in buying a book on Google Adword & Ebay Secrets in 2004 and I saved a copy on my computer. Out of idleness, I started reading the books, having stayed on my computer for months.
Few days after reading the Ebay Secrets, I started my first online business on Ebay. I sold off a pair of shoes that was given to me by a friend. I went on to sell shoes that I got from charity shops, Chess sets, Clothes etc and I did make some few bucks. I then moved on to Affiliate marketing after being encouraged by a close associate.
Internet marketing took off and I was making some dough. Few years later, I started OpportunityWorld. At that time, I was in my early twenties and it did created a lot of buzz. I ran it as a home based business with just my Laptop + Internet connection + Inverter + CellPhone, and it turned over millions of Naira within the first year.

The Present
Other than Opportunity World that I started, I co-founded Tunity Technologies. Tunity Tech is aimed at helping small business to increase ROI using Email softwares as a marketing tool. I have since partnered with a long time associate to expand opportunity world and its getting exciting…
Also, Opportunity world is delving into the media aspect of the internet, and this includes creating Audio & Video Training programs for individuals and corporate organisation alike. This will encourage individuals to start home based businesses without necessarily attending seminars or trainings.
Some of the ventures that I have initiated have made me lose some money, however others have done great. I have since discovered that the future is what we make happen by the choices we make in the present.

The Future
I really wish I can predict the future, but I somehow can’t. I am still in my twenties and I believe I can achieve more if I work harder. Luckily for me, I have made more money than I have lost and I have been able to leverage on this to start building a dotcom empire and I hope it will pay off so that I can continue to do what I do and not work for someone else. On a daily basis as well, I encourage every individual that crosses my path to harness the power of the internet to be their own boss and over the next few years, I’ll be making that a continuous priority so that as many young people as possible will be able to have a better life and not depend on being JOB (Just Over broke). Therefore I encourage you to keep visiting this blog for more exciting features, and also, do send me an email if you have any questions.
